So It Begins

It has happened finally. After months of procrastination and mucking around with different CMSs, I have finally managed to setup my Blog. A lot remains to be done but "Why do today what you can leave till tomorrow". Nah, just kidding, I have a lot on my hands right now and its hard to find a long stretch of time to sit and play with the blog and try and introduce the new features I want to add.

Must say that had Varun not pushed me with his constant reminders, I still would be in double minds whether to setup a blog or not? I might say that Varun has probably put more efforts in getting me to blog and help me setup this blog than I have. For now I look foreword to blogging and getting some good discussions going.

Let me be the first one to comment on your blog. Well... getting you to start a blog was (relatively) easy... making you blog regularly will be much more difficult... of course I can't really make you blog... you can do it only if you find it interesting enough.

    Some quick feedback:

    • The theme looks cool (am using IE) but the post does not show a date. Date can only be ascertained from its URI.
    • I am posting anonymously right now and am unable to use my name or specify my blog. Enabling these things will make comments easier to read and give more incentives for people to comment.
    • Use a sensible robots.txt as soon as possible before bots crawl your site. I will explain the reasons later if you want.

    >> Still working on the date, on the post i mean:P
    >> Details enabled in comments, should be able to leave details while commenting.
    >> Thanks for the Robots.txt, taken care of.

    cheers

Wanted to ask you 2 questions:

    1. Do you want be strictly anonymous? Or is JhQuest just a nick that you want to use online but don't have a problem even if you are referred to using your actual name?
    2. Why the name Apocalypse Watch?

P.S. I registered using 'Varun' but did not get an email from your blog. Reset my password to something and mail me the password at my office email address.

Btw there is a problem with the comment textbox (textarea actually): Scrollbars never appear and cursor disappears from view when composing a long comment. Try it out.

Unless someone gets curious and asks for it, I see no reason to reveal my identity, in either case most people who know me know I go by that name in cyberspace.

About the Blog name, the site slogan says it all, I don't like the site slogan ery much, but till I come up with something better, this will hae to do.

I have sent your password to you.

The missing scrollbars seem inherent to the theme. Will see if I can get the WSYWIG editor to fix this. BTW, is there a spellcheck module for drupal?

But try it out on a test installation first. I recall that when it was first released it has some issues with 4.6.x.
